Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

This one's from one of my all time favorite books, Kim Holden's Bright Side. Yes, guys, IT'S AMAZING. Go read it, please.

Anyway, I chose this quote for this week because it reminds me that amidst all problems and crazy stuff, reading books is one of the few activities that keeps me sane.

Typography Tuesday #8: Along for the Ride

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.
I got to attend a lettering workshop last Saturday, yay! It was totally amazing and I got to learn a lot of new stuff <3 This one's my output from that workshop, teehee. I just wanted to put this quote out from Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride to remind people not to be afraid to fail because it's perfectly natural. So, go, dream big and take the plunge! :D Well, actually, this is sort of a note to myself also. =))

Typography Tuesday #7: After Hello

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

This is my first time to do a digital work (huhu I suck at it so much) but yeah. I'd have to say that this quote from Lisa Mangum's After Hello really helped me a lot this year. Okay, most especially this semester. I had to write an essay about rote life, and stagnancy, and a lot of those stuff, and I can't help but remember this one. After Hello is a great book about life and advices, and it's a must-read! <3

Typography Tuesday #6: Ugly Love

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

Since it's summer time, it's also the revival of my Typography Tuesday! Yehey! But since I just came off from school + vacation (OMG I went to London, it's so pretty there huhu I don't even want to come home), I haven't made a new typography for a book quote. I made this one last year, which is from Colleen Hoover's Ugly Love. I'd have to say that I didn't like it that much at first, but when I reread it, I cried. Lots. Now, I love it! So, go, go, go, read it! :D

Typography Tuesday #5: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

I've been skipping on Typography Tuesdays, and I'm so sad. I'm starting to hate college because it's taking away my time to read books and to make hand lettering. :< But, anyway, this one's from SPLFS (which is super cute!!! I love it!!) and I tried a new style by making the text all script and diagonal. :D

Typography Tuesday #4: The Truth About Forever

Tuesday, December 9, 2014
Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

This quote is from Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever, and is really one of the ones that I remember because it's short. And true. It reminds me of a lot of things in the past, and that we should just stop living in the past. It happened; it's over. The past is the one that makes our present, and it's because of the past that we grow as a person. I think we should stop living in the past and thinking about all the should have's, what if's, and all those stuff. Don't you think so? :D

Typography Tuesday #3: Divergent

Tuesday, November 25, 2014
Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

This week is from Veronica Roth's Divergent because it's one of the few dystopian books that I really, really, really love. I haven't gotten to read Insurgent and Allegiant yet, but I hope that I'll be able to read them soon!

Typography Tuesday #2: Slammed

Tuesday, November 11, 2014
Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I will post my lettering works of book quotes. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.
Because I love all Colleen Hoover's book so much, and it's all thanks to Slammed (Dyane's review here.) I'm really glad that I was able to come across this book since it left a great impact in my life. Every book of hers has left me speechless ever since. This is just one of the few quotes from Colleen's books that I've made. Yay. :D

Typography Tuesday #1: The Sea of Tranquility

Tuesday, November 4, 2014
Typography Tuesday is a new feature where I (Pauline) post my lettering works of book quotes that are nice for me. Works will usually be black and white, but there may be at times that colored ones will be posted. All works are scanned but created by hand through markers and fine liners.

For my first Typography Tuesday, the quote is from Katja Millay's The Sea of Tranquility just because I absolutely love this book. It's one of my biggest favorites, and I hope you guys will give it a try! :D It's really an awesome book that left me speechless. As a result, I even asked Dyane if she could write a review of it instead. =))

"Nothing is perfect. It's not even good yet. But, maybe."

Phew. I've always wanted to make an art portfolio of some sort, but I never had the confidence to make one. Just a few months back, I started uploading my lettering in DeviantArt, but now, I'm also shamelessly spreading my work here (HAHA.) Anyway, even though I'm not really very proud of my works, (but some of my friends encouraged me to do this,) so yeah. Oh, and I'm sorry for advance how sucky they'll turn out to be and that they're not properly digitalized since I don't have a scanner at home. But still, feel free to comment or tweet about your inputs! They're always welcome. Teehee. :D

If I'm lucky, I might be able to have Dyane post some also! (I hope.) Anyway, I don't know if some sort like Typography Tuesday already exists, so please comment if you know some so we can mention them, too! :D

Thanks a lot in advance!
